Description

Calvisia kneubuehleri, also known as the Picasso Stick Insect, is a rarely available and beautiful species for the intermediate-to-advanced keeper. This advert is for six nymphs between the third and fifth instars, so will be well-started. I may go through care requirements with you to ensure that this species is a good fit for you as a keeper. These have been reared on Cherry Laurel and Salal and enjoy both. Humidity must be kept at at least 70% RH throughout development, with 80% being preferable, but ventilation should also not be neglected. A fan set on a timer pointed at the enclosure can be enough to prevent stagnation and encourage nymphs to eat. Clean conditions and bright lighting are also vital. Temperatures must not exceed 25C, as these are very sensitive to heat. The normal range of 18-23C is best. When raising hatchlings and young nymphs, tearing the food plants leaves or cutting the leaf edges can help them get started. Please get in touch for more info!
