Description

I'm rehoming my beloved rats through no fault of their own. Banjo, Fiddle and Tambourine are under a year old. I got them 10/10/25 at roughly 6 weeks old (they're from different litters). They're clever, sweet and entertaining and I love them to death. Unfortunately since the passing of my elder rats in March my mental health has been taking a big hit. I don't think I can go through the process again and I don't think I'm providing the care they deserve anymore. I would like them to go to a home that is able to provide good care for them and ideally has experience, other rats who can join the group, or generally a passion for rats. Tambourine is white with a couple black/grey hairs and black eyes. She loves food so as a result she loves doing tricks, although sometimes she gets so excited she can't focus on actually figuring them out, so she does her easy spin trick to beg for a treat. She knows the TV area is off limits, so if she wants my attention, she will jump over the barrier I put up and stand there waiting for me to come get her. Banjo is white with a black hood. She is the most skittish rat; she will come and climb on you and does some tricks but otherwise likes to explore by herself and is the least "grab-able". She likes pea fishing and digging around in her toy boxes. She has a habit of climbing right the way up the back of the cage to then climb down into the doorway. I suppose that's the sneakiest way in. Fiddle is a brown colourpoint with red eyes. She is very sweet and likes learning tricks, but she loses interest if it seems too difficult (like walking on hind legs, which the other two figured out). She loves playing tag and will chase your hand around if you scratch the floor. Unfortunately, she's recently picked up a habit of barbering herself (and possibly the other rats). So she's got bald spots on her arms and back where she's bitten the fur short. This is likely due to understimulation, it's what suggests to me I'm not doing enough for them... I'll be taking them to the vet when I get the chance or I hope their new owner can bring them if her condition doesn't improve. I would like to give them to a home who can: - clean their cage weekly, rearrange and swap their things around - take them to the vet to keep them healthy + treat them when they get sick - have a space for them to free roam and let them out for 1h+ a day, and give them enrichment (training, playing with them, pea fishing etc) - please can an adult be responsible for them, and no small children in the home... they're lovely pets but I'm very afraid of them accidentally getting hurt I will give them away with their cage and accessories. Please take some but you don't have to take it all if you don't need it. They have 2 boxes of cage enrichment, a smaller spare cage, food, bedding, variously chewed on C&C panels, and two carriers. Please could you collect them from St Ives? You're welcome to come and visit them before you decide.
