Description
Peggy will only be rehomed to the absolute best home and only if I can ensure that she'll have a better life than she already does.
Main priority is an active life style, she's very much working cocker minded, she loves to be given a job, very trainable and focused on her person. This can come with a lot of anxious energy if this isn't being fulfilled, she doesn't chew or run around the house and is very good at being told to go to her bed, we don't use a crate. She will cry if she senses you are going out. She's never had an accident in the house, jumps straight into the car. I worked really hard on her recall when I first got her and she is almost perfect when being walked in her own, can be abit rusty when she's walked with other dogs as a group with all of the excitement but has a better recall than most as a whole, extremely trainable, playful and loves a ball. I trained her to a whistle for a period of time, she's her best self when she's being consistently challenged, would be an absolute excellent agility dog or someone who is interested in training. We have horses so is used to being around horses and in open spaces. Would thrive in a rural area and I don't doubt she'd be an amazing gun dog if someone put the time into her. She's absolutely brilliant around kids, loves them infact, gets excited when my toddler wakes from his nap, lets him walk her and cuddle her not got a bad bone in her body, very gentle and fetches the ball from him,. has shown to be grumpy around food on ONE occasion she growled (only time I've ever heard nothing like that from her) so I've always fed her dinner in the garden to air on the side of caution. She's not a barker at all, she'll bark once if there's a cat in the garden and every now and again bark a singular time when someone knocks but it's rare, shes not sensitive to outside noise people walking past etc, this is a big plus for me as barking drives me nuts and always been grateful at how quiet she is! She is a whiner tho although not a loud one, she just wants to be close to you. She steals your socks but she doesn't chew and isn't destructive in anyway. Shes fine to be left at home but will cry for the first 5 minutes (she's not loud at all) this is a recent thing she's only been doing the past few months and never did it before. But I'm at home a lot as I'm a stay at home mum so would prefer she wasn't going to somewhere where she would be left constantly all day as she isn't used to this. I rehomed Peggy from a woman who was moving away when she was 1 year old and I've had her for the past year and a half. She is apart of the family but due to a second high risk pregnancy along with physical health issues with my feet that have slown me down a lot, I can no longer offer her the extremely active life she's used too and is happiest in, she would come everywhere with me, to the farm everyday, very long walks and training sessions on the beach and chilling in coffee shops, she's brilliant with other dogs and consistently out with my mums two cockapoos, but she's never lived with another dog although I think this would benefit her as she's extremely attached to her owner and likes to be right next to you at all times, I think extra companion ship would be good for her, she will follow you absolutely everywhere, would suit someone who wants a little side kick and she is brilliant in every social setting and space. Shes nervous around new people and will likely be very reserved and nervous at first, but as soon as she knows you and that you are fine she very quickly comes round and won't leave you alone!😂 she's an extremely extremely sensitive dog and I can't stress this enough, she's great with firm boundaries but needs a gentle person. Shes a big woos and easily frightened but equally confident in every other way. Shes walked on a slip lead and will heal and walk on a loose lead if it's something you keep up with, but has never been a bad puller, she's a very active dog with anxious personality so is very very petite and slim and doesn't gain weight easily she's very fit, I'm happy to keep her forever and she will stay here unless a better life can be offered for her. Message for more info and a summary of the life you can offer her please, 10 star homes only
