Description
Rocky is approx 1 years old (previously adopted in January 2026 and they were told approx 5-6 months old at time of surrender) and he then bonded with our male boar of similar age due to him loosing his companion.
Due to rising hormone levels in the boars and a recent broken bond means we have had to separate them, we have had to make the difficult decision to rehome Rocky as we do not have the space to house them separately on a permanent basis as we would need to rebond them each with a friend.
Rocky is a lovely vocal guinea pig who loves peppers and kale, and will wheek for you when he hears his bowl. He is a little shy to people, though this could be worked on with him with the right time and commitment.
Though Rocky has been previously bonded with a male of similar age, his personality means he would be better suited with a more submissive guinea pig or a neutered friend.
Rocky does not have a cage to go with him as his previous companion is in it, though we can provide some changeover food, hay, bowl and his house to provide him some comfort in the transition.
As this is a difficult position and we would like what is best for both Rocky and his previous companion we have separated and we would like Rocky to go to a home that will meet his needs and offer him the care and love he deserves. We would like to see where Rocky will be living (setup and if he will be rebonded) and ensure his new family understand guinea pig care. We are happy to bring Rocky to his new home to ensure he settles and to make this transition easier on him and to vet his new living quarters. We are happy to wait for the right home for him.
