Description
No fee. Distance isn’t an issue for the right home.
Lola is a 4 year old American Akita and with the people she’s bonded to, she is honestly the soppiest, most loving girl. She’s very affectionate, eager to please, and loves spending time together. whether that’s playing, cuddling, or just relaxing nearby. With us she’s gentle, calm and very emotionally aware. She’s the kind of dog who can sense when you’re upset and will come straight over to sit with you for comfort.
She isn’t a “hard” dog with the people she trusts. She’s actually very soft, sensitive and responds best to calm energy, reassurance and routine. She forms strong bonds and really thrives when she feels close to her person.
Sadly, due to repeated incidents involving children, Lola can’t safely live in a family home. This isn’t because she isn’t loved, it’s purely about safety. She needs an adult only home and careful management to avoid contact with children, other animals, and regular interaction with strangers.
At the moment, Lola doesn’t do normal street walks as she’s reactive around unfamiliar people and animals. She uses our secure garden as her safe space and we book secure dog fields for her exercise and enrichment. This has been the least stressful and safest way for her to live and any future exposure would need to be very gradual and controlled, with management coming first rather than “normal” walking routines.
Because of this, a home with a garden is really important for her. Apartment only living or relying on busy public walks wouldn’t be suitable for her right now.
We feel Lola would do best with a calm, emotionally mature person or couple who have the time, patience and understanding to put boundaries in place to keep everyone safe. A home that understands prevention, separation, safe spaces and routine would suit her far better than one that expects her to be social or busy.
She isn’t looking for a hectic life. She’s looking for her person. someone who values loyalty, companionship and quiet connection, and who can give her a stable, predictable home.
She isn’t a project or a guard dog. She’s a companion who needs the right environment to feel safe.
This is an incredibly hard decision for us and we’ll be very careful about where she goes. We’re more than happy to stay in contact, help with the transition, and always be there for her if needed.
For the right home, Lola has so much love, devotion and companionship to give.
