Description
Barney is a 4-year-old, neutered, NEBBR-registered Old Tyme Bulldog. He is very affectionate and has a lovely temperament. Due to noise and unpredictability, he can find young children overwhelming at times. He settles well during the day and can be left alone during the day without issue.
He gets on well with other dogs, but can sometimes struggle to know when to settle and give them space.
❗️Important❗️
Barney struggles with being separated overnight and frequently urinates when left alone at night. We have spoken to our vet about this. A possible urinary infection was treated with antibiotics, however this did not resolve the issue and the vet now believes it to be behavioural.
When Barney sleeps in bed with us, he does not urinate as he feels happy and settled. However, with two of us already in the bed, Barney being a chunky boy, and a toddler who still wakes during the night, this is unfortunately not a sustainable long-term solution, especially as we both work and need to manage broken sleep.
Ideal home:
• Someone happy to have a close companion dog and doesn’t mind sharing their bed
• No young children preferred, as Barney can become overwhelmed
• No cats
This decision has not been taken lightly and Barney will only be rehomed to the right home. Please message me for more information — I am happy to answer any questions honestly.
