Description

Due to a change in personal circumstances, we have made the very difficult decision to find a new home for our beautiful Hazel. Hazel is a 14-month-old Dachshund with a wonderful temperament. She is a loving, friendly family dog who enjoys nothing more than cuddles on the sofa, spending time with her people, and chewing on a favourite bone. Her behaviour truly cannot be faulted. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and a joy to have around. This decision has not been made lightly. My husband now works nights, and I work long days, which means Hazel is no longer receiving the time, attention, and companionship that she deserves. We feel it is only fair to find her a home where she can have the love and attention she thrives on. Hazel is fully house trained and has never shown any food sensitivities. She currently eats a high-quality, high-protein kibble diet and has a healthy appetite. Hazel has not been neutered and has recently had her second season. We are not looking for a breeding home and do not want her to be used for breeding. She is a much-loved family pet, not a money-making opportunity. She will be eligible to be spayed in approximately three months’ time, when she reaches 18 months of age. This is generally considered an ideal time for Dachshunds due to their bone and joint development. We are looking for a loving, permanent home where Hazel will be treated as a cherished member of the family. The right home is far more important to us than a quick sale. Please only get in touch if you can offer Hazel the time, attention, and loving home that she deserves.

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
