Description

This is Dexter. We bought him a few weeks ago. He’s two years old, and his previous owner told us he’s a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Before Dexter joined our family, his previous owner told us he was well-trained, got along very well with cats and children, and had a calm temperament. However, since he arrived, he has been the complete opposite. Although he’s a very sweet dog and loves to play, he can be a bit rough during playtime. We have two children at home — one who is six and one who is one year old. He loves playing with them, but his playfulness is too rough for small children. He also doesn’t get along well with my cats. He chases them constantly and creates a lot of stress at home. We have two cats, and now they are afraid of Dexter. He needs a lot of potty training, and during walks, he pulls very hard on the leash, so you need to be strong to control him. My family is heartbroken because we truly love him, but since we have two children and two cats, he unfortunately needs more training than we are able to provide right now. I’m being honest because I want him to find a home that will accept him and train him properly. Based on my experience with him, I don’t recommend him for homes with small children or other animals. Feel free to ask me anything.
