They have been bred primarily with temperament; biddability; confirmation and working ability in mind. The pups are reared with puppy culture will be introduced to crates, leads, car journeys, children and a large variety of noises from fireworks to sirens. I start toilet training, crate training and basic puppy training including leave it, sits, and loose lead walking. We originally got Ivy after watching her mum work across multiple seasons, my husband (our gamekeeper) said if Tilly has a litter I'm having one - and Ivy has been everything we hoped for. She is a very straightforward, biddable bitch. She naturally stays close; quarters well and wants to work with you. She has never been a dog that needs fighting or constantly handling. On the shooting field she gets on with her job and can work alone or in a team. She works cover well, doesn't pull on more open terrain and retrieves if needed. She is a very easy, useful dog to have on the team. Ivy is also a certified therapy dog and has been into schools with me providing animal assisted education as well as training and competing (for fun) in canine hoopers. Although different from the beating line, it shows she is very versatile and can easily switch between working and pet dog modes. We chose the sire because he is a good strong stamp and compliments Ivy's confirmation. He works 80+ days a season in a large team of dogs picking and beating. We wanted a dog that complimented Ivy both in confirmation and temperament, so that the progeny are easy, talented dogs with stamina. We weren't looking to breed hard going spaniels that needed constant management. We want pups that will get into cover and do the job, but be enjoyable to train and have around. These pups will be perfect for teenagers getting their first beating dog, or to add to an established beating team. Equally in the right active pet or sports dog home they will make cracking family dogs for people who want a trainable, involved spaniel that will give them a job to do. remaining in the litter is: 1 liver & white dogs 3 black & white bitches 2 Liver & white bitches pups are legally docked and had rear dew claws removed - by a registered vet. Mum is Gamekeeper owned. Paperwork included in pack. Ivy's DNA tests are available on request - one needs redoing and that is pending. Regardless pups will all be clear or carriers - Dad is fully clear so no pups will be affected for KC required genes
