Only serious enquiries, please read the advert carefully! Thank you 2 year old female long haired patterdale X Lakeland terrier. Rehoming due to a decline in my health, I can no longer offer her the home and care that she needs and deserves. Has lived with another female dog and multiple children, used to a very busy and loud household although I would prefer her to go to a home without very young children due to some of the behaviours I mention below. She is a great girl, full of confidence and determination, typical terrier and can be very vocal, especially when the door knocks and there are strangers in the home but she is incredibly loving and loyal once she’s trusting of you and bonds deeply to her people. Loves to play especially with a ball, fetch and tug of war are her favourite. She has a good range of commands- sit, spin, lie down, wait, leave it and speak, she has the potential to learn a lot more given the time and dedication put into her. Fully toilet trained, chipped and vaccinated, I have owned her since she was 8 weeks old. She shows incredible genetics for a terrier, she has never worked but her dad was working line and she shows great natural potential for breed specific work. As a double terrier mix she has very high energy and very high drive naturally and will suit a home who can offer plenty of breed specific mental and physical stimulation. She is crate trained, can be left for up to 4 hours at a time, toilet trained since a puppy and will let you know by circling the door and crying when she needs to go out. She has lived with another dog but is untested around unknown dogs, shows excitement and tail wagging on walks but hasn’t had the opportunity to meet any properly. She does have a few issues behaviourally that will need work and she won’t be the dog for everyone so please be sure you think you can offer her what she needs. What needs work and additional info- -She’s very vocal as mentioned above, triggers for this are the door knocking, strangers in the home, hearing bins being taken out and thunder -Barking around new people, she needs slow introductions on a lead with access to a toy in her mouth to meet new people as she barks and gets excited to the point she will nip fingers. Please note this is strictly excitement based not aggressive but is an issue that needs work and why I’d rather her be not be in a home with younger children -She has a sensitive stomach and does better on dry biscuits hydrated with water better than she does meat, seems sensitive to chicken -Because she is long coated, she needs a weekly brush and is prone to matting due to her coarse fur -Very vocal on walks and pulls a lot A lot of these issues can be corrected with someone who has the time, dedication and knowledge to do so, she is extremely food orientated which makes training her easier and can also be used help combat the other issues addressed above. Price negotiable, I just want to secure a great home for her. She has been a great companion to me and I wish I didn’t have to make this decision.
