Description
My name is Murphy and I’m a KC registered 2 year old neutered male German Shepherd.
My previous owner was clueless about GSDs she didn’t walk or train me and put me on medications and foods that harmed me. She let me jump on the sofa and stand up on my back legs at the sink which caused me to develop a mild hip displasia which she then put me on strong pain killers for.
My current carer has been detoxing me from those medications, giving me joint healing foods and herbs, gently exercising me and working on my fear of people and I have made amazing progress in 4 weeks. I have gone from being fearful of children to adoring the children I live with, wagging my tail when they come down in the morning and giving them sloppy kisses!
I also live with a GSD female who I enjoy to play with but my carer introduced us gradually and carefully. My carer can provide advice and support to you to integrate me with any pets you may have
Due to my mild hip displasia I only need gentle-moderate exercise so would be ideal for a single/mature person who enjoys walking and wants a guard dog
I’m excellent on the lead, I do not pull but I need some training on my general manners as my original owner neglected to train me
I love to carry a ball or toy in my mouth, I am a real character 🤭🐶
My original owner was dishonest about my joint issues and as a result I am not suited to my current active/hiking/working home but would really suit a slower pace with someone to snuggle up to on the sofa and give kisses to

From the start of our interest in adopting the gerbils, Sophia was fantastic with her communication. Sophia provided advice and guidance and was right there when we had questions right up until the point of the adoption.
They have clearly had an excellent home and were not stressed at all in the move from Wales to Dorset and we are delighted how quickly they have settled and are secure enough to let my daughter hold them briefly and feed from her hand.

Not ideal for first-time owners due to complex training and socialisation needs
Prone to hereditary health issues including hip and elbow dysplasia
Requires substantial daily exercise and mental stimulation to avoid behavioural issues
Can develop separation anxiety and may be destructive if left alone long
