This listing is for a live adult pair of Myronides glaucus ‘Peleng’, the Peleng Stick Insect. Individuals will have been adult for no more than 4 weeks at the time of writing this. A very prettily coloured species with nymphs a bright green with mottled legs and adults orange-brown (in the case of males) or green, turquoise or even blue (in the case of females.) This species is fairly simple to keep provided their requirements are met. Food plants are very diverse, with bramble, fern, oak, hypericum, beech, hazel, pyracantha, hawthorn and salal all accepted. Make sure that you collect away from busy roads or areas where pesticides may be sprayed. Humidity must be kept high for young nymphs (~70-80% RH) and around 60-70% RH as adults. Ideal temperatures are 18-23C. While not a large species, they can be active and need more ‘personal’ space than some phasmids. I personally don’t keep adults in anything smaller than a glass 45x30x30 terrarium. Please get in touch for more info!
