Hi! Meet Polly 🐾 Polly is my gorgeous 4-year-old wire-haired dachshund. She’s loving, cuddly, funny, full of personality — and very, very long! ❤️ I adopted Polly in June 2025, when I already had two other dogs. The beginning was a little bumpy, as she didn’t get along with one of them. After my circumstances changed, she has been living happily with my Border Collie and me for the last few months. During that time, Polly has really come out of her shell and become an incredibly affectionate little dog, which makes writing this all the more difficult. Unfortunately, Polly has recently started showing aggression towards my Border Collie. Because of this, I have made the very difficult decision to find her a new home where she can be the only dog. I want to be completely open about this because finding the right home for Polly is much more important to me than finding one quickly. A little more about her... 🐾 She weighs around 9kg and is quite small. ❤️ She absolutely loves cuddles, belly rubs and being close to her person. 🍗 She LOVES food and treats! I feed her raw food and she doesn't like kibble 🐿️ She has a strong dachshund hunting instinct, so squirrels are extremely exciting! 🐕 She is generally fine seeing other dogs when out on walks. She will occasionally bark at them, but she is very food-motivated and can usually be redirected easily with treats. 🏡 From living with Polly for the past year, I strongly believe she needs to be the only dog in her new home. I don't want her to be put in a situation where she needs to compete with or share her home with another dog. I’m looking for someone who understands dachshunds and/or is comfortable managing a dog who can be reactive around other dogs. Most importantly, I want someone who will give her the love, cuddles and security she deserves.
