Description
Rocco is a beautiful young male rabbit who is looking for a very special home. We’re not sure what breed he is. Price doesn’t matter I just need a good home for him. He is currently 4 months and 16 days old and not yet neutered. This has been a very hard decision and he will only be rehomed to a home that truly understands rabbits and is fully committed to meeting his needs for life. His welfare, happiness, and safety are my absolute priority.
Rocco is the sweetest boy. He has a gentle, affectionate nature and a curious personality. He enjoys interaction, affection on his own terms, and being part of a calm, enriched environment. He deserves a home that sees rabbits as complex, intelligent animals — not as “easy” or low-maintenance pets. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE ENQUIRING.
🐇 SPACE & HOUSING REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Rocco is not a cage or hutch rabbit. He must have:
• A minimum of 3m x 2m of continuous floor space, with enough height to fully stand upright
• Space available at all times (not shut in overnight or for long periods)
• Either a fully rabbit-proofed indoor setup or a secure, predator-proof outdoor enclosure
Small hutches, cages, or “starter setups” are not suitable and enquiries offering these will not be considered.
🐇 COMPANIONSHIP
Rabbits are social animals and Rocco must not live alone long-term.
Ideally, his new home will:
• Already have another rabbit, or
• Have clear plans to bond him with a suitable companion once neutered
Experience with bonding (or willingness to learn properly and do it correctly) is essential.
🐇 DIET & CARE KNOWLEDGE
Rocco requires a correct rabbit diet, including:
• Unlimited hay at all times (this makes up 80–90% of his diet)
• Daily fresh leafy greens
• A small amount of high-quality pellets appropriate for his age
• No muesli-style food
A good understanding of rabbit digestion, gut health, and common illnesses such as GI stasis and dental disease is extremely important.
🐇 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Rabbits are often misunderstood and are not easy pets. They require time, space, observation, and knowledgeable care. For this reason:
• ❌ Rocco is not suitable as a child’s pet
• ✅ An experienced rabbit owner is strongly preferred
His new owner must be willing and able to provide:
• Routine and emergency veterinary care
• Neutering when he is old enough
• Enrichment, mental stimulation, and social interaction
• A long-term commitment (rabbits can live 10+ years)
Rocco deserves a calm, stable home where he is treated as a valued family member, not a novelty or impulse pet.
I am happy to answer genuine questions and will ask about your experience, setup, and plans. This is not to be difficult — it is simply to ensure Rocco goes to the very best home possible. I would also love occasional updates once he is settled.
If you can offer Rocco everything he needs and more, please get in touch and tell me about the home you can provide. 🤍🐰
