Rehoming My 10-Year-Old Cockatiel. Loving Home Wanted (3-week trial offered)
I’m looking to rehome my much-loved cockatiel, Pidgey, to a calm and experienced home. This is a hard decision, but I’m out of the house too often to give him the attention and companionship he needs.
About Pidgey:
Age: 10 years
Hand-raised from a chick, enjoys human company, bonded to me, sits on me, enjoys head strokes, and likes hanging near people.
Sings and whistles (including his own Addams Family remix!)
Loves greens, potatoes, baked beans and apple.
Enjoys “singing” to fabrics, Can be very noisy, typical loud cockatiel squawks.
Has shown territorial behaviour, especially around kitchens or nesting spaces, so he needs someone confident with hormones.
Why I’m Rehoming:He grew up in a busy family home with lots of interaction. My lifestyle has changed and he spends too much time alone, which frustrates him and increases his calling. I want him to have consistent company and stimulation.
Ideal Home: Cockatiel/parrot experience. Not left alone all day. Patient person/family who understands hormonal behaviour. Calm environment where he can bond at his pace.
Rehoming Conditions:
Offering a 3-week trial period. If it isn’t the right fit, he can come back to me with no judgement. His wellbeing is the priority.
Rehoming Fee: £60 donation to the World Parrot Trust. He will come with his cage, food, toys, bowls and accessories.
