Description

Skye is a beautiful all black German shepherd cross Labrador. She’s 7 months old! Not spayed. Microchipped, vaccinated! She gets on well with other dogs and lives with my lab male. She is a bundle of energy! Constantly wanting to play with my lab when he just wants a bit of peace! In a good way, it’s just her age. She’s hitting adolescence. She’s good on walks, good off lead. As a dog walker, I’ve used her harness, slip leads and clip on lead. She has been on group walks with 5-6 other dogs of different breeds. Crate trained and sleeps in her crate all night. She wakes up when she hears you up! Good in the car, in the boot or front seat. Selling her sadly as I’ve just ended my relationship, I have 3 kids on my own with 2 cats and my older dog. She needs a home where she’ll be centre of attention! We love her, she’s great but also my cats decided to not stay at home! She just wants to play!

Pros

Outstanding intelligence and trainability from two of the world’s most capable working breeds
Warm, family-friendly temperament combining Labrador sociability and German Shepherd loyalty
Robust, athletic dog suited to active outdoor lifestyles including hiking and canine sports
Generally healthy crossbreed with a broad genetic base compared to either purebred parent

Cons

Dense double coat sheds heavily throughout the year, particularly during seasonal moults
Requires at least 60 minutes of vigorous daily exercise — not suited to a sedentary household
German Shepherd heritage means some individuals carry wariness toward strangers without early socialisation
Prone to bloat; large meals before or after exercise must be avoided
