Description
Update – Toffee has now been neutered and will be ready for his forever happy home by the end of the week. Please also feel free to ask about pricing just want what’s best for him. - we will also be asking for virtual home tours
This is an incredibly hard post for me to write because I love this boy so, so much.
We welcomed Toffee into our home to join our little group, as we have a younger cat who loves to play and our older cats won’t really entertain her. Unfortunately, Toffee is far more playful and energetic than we anticipated, and despite our best efforts, he is now causing stress to the other cats in their own home.
This is absolutely no fault of his. He is simply doing what Bengals do — playing, bouncing, and wanting constant interaction — but his energy levels are too much for our moggies. I have tried everything to make it work, but sadly it just isn’t the right fit for our household.
Toffee is the most playful, cuddly, energetic and incredibly sweet boy. He hates being left alone and will always be by your side whenever he can. He truly thrives on companionship and attention.
Because of this, he would be best suited to:
• An experienced Bengal owner
• An indoor-only home
• Ideally someone who works from home or is home most of the day
• A calm household without young children
He needs a lot of attention, stimulation and affection — and he gives it back tenfold. He is a true lap cat and just wants to be involved in everything you do.
He will be neutered on Wednesday. We were planning to wait until he was six months (as we do with all our cats), but if he were to leave before then, neutering would need to be promised and prioritised. He will also be microchipped at the same time, as I prefer this done under anaesthetic rather than while awake.
He allows me to trim his nails every other week and so far has shown no interest in scratching furniture (likely because our other cats don’t). He is comfortable wearing a harness, is still learning the lead, and loves going out in his cat pram.
We absolutely adore him, and this decision has not been made lightly. We simply have to think about the wellbeing of our other cats as well.
