Four month old, Blossom
Blossom is a 7‑month‑old ginger and white Syrian hamster with the most wonderfully shiny, silky fur and a personality that has unfolded beautifully during her time in foster care. She arrived absolutely terrified - too frightened to come out if we were in the room, and quick to run and hide the moment she heard us. Our hearts were so sad for her.
But now, Blossom has truly blossomed.
While she can still be timid, she now wakes up for treat time in the early evening and comes over when she hears our voices, hoping for a snack. Her favourite treat is a small piece of dried apple, which she accepts with growing confidence. She’s even begun taking treats gently from the palm of our hands, and although she may not enjoy being picked up, she does enjoy being softly petted. With time and patience, Blossom may blossom even more!
Blossom is easy to transfer using a jug or tunnel, and like many female Syrians, she’s an active girl who loves her wheel. She can also be a bit of a climber and is prone to bar‑chewing, so she will need a barless enclosure that meets the minimum welfare standard of 100cm x 50cm x 50cm, along with plenty of enrichment to keep her busy and content.
She would suit an adopter who appreciates a hamster with a gentle spirit and is happy to continue supporting her confidence as it grows. Blossom has already shown us how resilient, sweet, and brave she is - now she just needs someone special to give her the safe, loving home she deserves.
