Description
We are looking for a special home for our two much-loved miniature dachshund girls who would thrive best staying together.
Bonnie (3 years old, black & tan) and Autumn (almost 2 years old, ginger) are both loving and playful. They enjoy spending their days together going for walks, play fighting and relaxing. They are also gentle and affectionate around our 6-month-old baby and are very much part of family life.
Both girls love cuddles, fuss, and relaxing on the sofa. They are used to bedtime routines and settle well at night once they know itās time to rest.
They are active little dogs who would benefit from regular daily walks and stimulation. They do not reliably signal for toileting, but will use puppy pads for wees if needed (though not typically for poo), so a consistent routine and frequent outdoor breaks would suit them best.
Health-wise, both are in good condition, regularly flea and worm treated, and generally low-shedding with regular brushingāespecially during seasonal coat changes. We have decided not to have the girls neutered, and have attached pictures of them as puppies for reference.
They can be a little destructive with soft furnishings and bedding if left without enough stimulation or structure, so a home that can provide routine, supervision, and enrichment would be important for them.
Personality notes:
* Bonnie can be a little anxious around unfamiliar dogs and may react when nervous, but she is not aggressive. She is calm and affectionate at home, loves belly rubs, and enjoys close companionship. She does experience travel sickness in the car, so short journeys and preparation with a sick bag are needed.
* Autumn is very affectionate and people-focused, enjoys attention, and generally gets on well with other dogs. She is more athletic and energetic, but can be strong on the lead, so a harness is recommended. She can also feel a little unsettled in the car, though she does not get travel sick.
They would suit a home that can offer time, patience, regular walks, and continued gentle training, particularly around lead walking, car travel, and household routines.
