š¶Background: Karma came to us from a UK pound after heād been found as a stray. Heād been badly treated & was very fearful of people, he struggled in kennels but has thrived in foster.
š¶Personality: Karma is a special boy whoās had a difficult life so far. Heās experienced trauma & abuse that has left him reactive to some triggers. Karmaās improved hugely while in foster by working on building confidence & impulse control, and heās becoming more trusting every day. New situations & people can still make him nervous but heās gaining confidence very quickly & weāre confident with continued training this will carry on in a new home. Heās also very smart! He loves training, picking up new commands quickly & is eager to please.
š Left alone: Once settled Karma does well on his own up to 6 hours.
š©House training: Heās done brilliantly house training in foster. With a good routine he has no accidents.
šāāļøExercise: As a ******************d breed Karma struggles with BOAS & can only endure minimal exercise. He needs an owner mindful of his breathing who is able to manage this & also provide mental enrichment.
āļøGrooming: Karmaās longer coat needs some brushing so he doesnāt get mats, he loves being brushed! He canāt yet be bathed as heās nervous of water (likely from past experience) but with time & positive experiences he may work up to this.
šAdopter Profile: Weāre looking for someone patient & committed to help Karma with his continued rehabilitation. He needs someone to go at his pace & understand that healing from trauma takes time. Knowledge of brachycephalic breeds would be a big benefit but is not essential. He needs someone who can keep up with positive training & continue his progress.
š”Home/garden needs: A quiet home with a private secure garden.
š¶Minimum age of children: Due to his reactivity & unknown past Karma needs a home with NO kids or ANY visiting kids.
šResident dogs: He would do best as an only dog.
šCat tested: He cannot live with cats.
š©ŗMedical issues: Karmaās had BOAS surgery & nostril resection. This has improved his breathing but itās still far from ideal. Thereās no further surgery that can help this. Karmaās breathing will always need to be carefully monitored & managed & precautions taken in warm weather.

Karma is a work in progress & his rehabilitation wonāt be an overnight fix; heās also incredibly loving & rewarding to work with, he would be an excellent project for a dog-savvy owner willing to spend the time to help him flourish.
We will remain on-hand throughout Karmaās transition to ensure he settles well into a new home & his adopter will be supported at every stage. All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated & come with 5 weeks free insurance.
