Description
We are delighted to announce that our wonderful Peggy and Eric have had 6 strong and healthy puppies.
Both Peggy and Eric are our family pets, both are genuinely wonderful dogs and we expect these puppies to be equally as lovely.
Peggy is our bedlington whippet. She is approx 22” to the shoulders. She has a wonderful calm temperament, spends all evening sleeping on the sofa (making sure to take up all the room!). She is super fun too, with a silly playful side to her, she is genuinely hilarious 😅
She has the typical rough coat of a beddywhippet, but it’s quite fine and easy to maintain, she does not really shed much.
She is the perfect dog to take out, she loves other dogs, but doesn’t bother them too much unless they invite her to play. She absolutely loves kids, and actively seeks their attention in a calm and very sweet manor.
Eric is our 5 year old boy. There is more of a mixture to his breeding, with his coat coming from deerhound from his dad. He is rough coated, so does not shed, we hand s strip his coat. Eric’s mum was a saluki/bull/greyhound and his dad was a deerhound/collie/greyhound. Whilst there’s lots of variation to his breeding, we have found that they come together to make the perfect dog.
He has the loyalty and trainability of a collie, without the intenseness and also has the laziness and kind temperament of a greyhound. The small amount of bull in him has given him his heavier and pretty head, and also added to his sweet temperament.
Eric spends most of his day with my husband at work, he sleeps in the cab most of the time, or is loose in the yard. He mainly curls up and sleeps, he’s the easiest dog.
Eric tries his best to sleep in our bed with us, but is also happy to curl up at the side, he loves company.
He is fantastic with other dogs, and absolutely loves visitors - he has a super waggy tail, which you have to watch for whipping your legs though😂
Both dogs have the sweetest and most loving temperaments.
As with many lurchers, both dogs have a prey drive, but have both been easy to train, that they can be off lead and recalled without any problem. We have chickens, ducks, cats , rabbits etc, and they live alongside them happily. Both absolutely love our cat Daisy, and chose to go and sleep with her. We will get the puppies started with their recall and ensure they are used to all cats, and livestock before they go to their new homes.
Peggy has had 1 boy and 5 girls. All of which look very similar at the moment, but are growing and changing daily.
The puppies are being brought up in the heart of our home and are used to all house hold noises, visitors, animals etc.
The puppies are being brought up along side our son, so will be very used to children and a family home.
As the puppies get older they will spend time in the garden and we will start house training. I will also get them used to travelling in a car, to ensure their first drive home is an easy as possible.
Puppies will be up to date with fleeing, worming and will be microchipped , they will come with an information pack with all you need to know about them and both their parents.
I am happy to support in offering the puppies their first vaccinations, though this would need to be checked with your own vet to ensure they are happy to continue to treatment.
We are keeping the first pick of the girls, currently though we are not yet decided on which one so as of yet individual girls cannot be reserved, however, if you’d like a girl I’m happy to reserve the “second pick” etc. The boy is available and ready to be reserved.
There are a variety of colours including some blues and brindles. I will be uploading more photos shortly.
Both of these dogs genuinely mean the world to us, and we will ensure their puppies go to only the best life long homes. They will be truly fantastic family pets, and we hope to keep intouch with future owners ❤️
