Tangra is looking for an experienced, adult-only home đź–¤
This is an incredibly difficult decision for us, so please no judgement. We love Tangra very much and never imagined having to rehome her, but due to major changes in our circumstances we can no longer give her the attention, structure, training, and management that she needs.
My husband has suffered a stroke and I have badly injured my back, meaning we are no longer physically able to properly handle and continue working with a strong dog like Tangra. Because of this, we feel it is safest and fairest to find her a more suitable home with someone experienced.
Tangra is a 4-year-old pure bred Rottweiler with a champion bloodline. She is incredibly loyal and forms very strong bonds with her owners, especially men. She loves belly rubs, affection, and being close to the people she trusts. Once she knows you, she can be a lovely, affectionate dog.
However, we need to be fully honest about her behavioural issues so she goes to the right home.
Tangra can be very reactive towards strangers entering the home. She barks when they do and is extremely protective/possessive of her owner. Because of this, we do not trust her around children and she has never been around our 7-year-old son unsupervised.
She has also shown aggression towards our other dogs, particularly around toys and during interactions with the puppies. She has recently started targeting our older 10-year-old dog as well. For this reason, she would need to be the only pet in the home.
Tangra pulls on the lead, is not crate trained, and would benefit from continued firm training with an experienced owner. She is not spayed and has previously had puppies.
Tangra needs:• An experienced owner who understands reactive/protective dogs• A calm, structured home with firm boundaries• An adult-only household• To be the only pet• Someone willing to continue training and management• A secure home and garden
We have never muzzle trained her, so we do not know how she would respond to one.
This is absolutely heartbreaking for us, but we have to put safety and her wellbeing first.
Please only message if you genuinely have experience with behavioural dogs and understand the commitment involved.
