Description
Lily is a 5-year-old spayed female Olde English Bulldogge who is looking for a very specific, understanding home where she can finally feel secure and settled.
She has been with us since she was a young puppy and is a very loving, affectionate dog with the people she trusts.
Lily is extremely food-motivated, adores her toys, and enjoys affection once she feels safe.
However, she is also a very nervous dog who struggles with new situations, unfamiliar people (particularly men), and busy environments.
Due to a significant accident within our household when Lily was young, she unfortunately missed out on proper socialisation and structured training.
As a result, she is highly vocal and uses barking as her main way of communicating fear, anxiety, and attention-seeking. This barking can be constant both indoors and outdoors and will need patient, experienced handling.
Temperament & Behaviour:
Very loving and affectionate once settled
Nervous of new things and changes
Barks frequently, especially at unfamiliar people
Barks when left outside (even just for 30 seconds) and wanting to come in
for attention
She also has a habit of making a screeching noise when she wants attention; please be aware of this as we will not be accepting new owners wanting to return her because of her noise when we have forewarned about this
She even barks at us and our children who have lived in the house with her since she was a puppy
It is important to note her barking is mostly fear-based reactions or attention seeking rather than aggression.
Enjoys toys and is highly food-motivated
Lily needs slow, positive introductions to new people. She is generally fine with adult women with time and treats. She can be okay with men she knows, but unfamiliar men must be introduced very slowly, ideally starting with a walk and using high-value treats.
Children, Dogs & Other Animals
Lily has lived around children aged 5-13 and has been gentle with them
However, due to her nervous nature and barking, we will not rehome her to a household with children
Not suitable to live with other dogs
Not suitable to live with cats or small animals
An adult-only, pet-free home is essential.
IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE
Lily was returned to us from a very short rehoming placement (2 days) after the adopters raised concerns about alleged biting.
The accounts provided were inconsistent, and no physical evidence was ever supplied.
Since returning to us, Lily has shown no signs of aggression, including around our children and familiar adults.
We have never personally witnessed Lily bite or attempt to bite anyone. Her behaviours are fear-based and vocal rather than aggressive. Full transparency will be given, and we are happy to discuss this openly with serious, suitable applicants.
Ideal Home
Calm, quiet, adult-only household
Experienced dog owner (reactive/fearful dogs experience essential)
Minimal visitors
Preferably rural or semi-rural
Secure garden with no neighbouring dogs visible, and be aware that if she hears other dogs she will consistently bark without relent
Someone patient, confident, and willing to work at Lily’s pace
This is not a first-time dog and not a dog for a busy home.

Final Note
Lily is not an easy dog at all, but she is not a bad dog. She needs the right environment, patience, and understanding to thrive. In the right home, with the right person, she has the potential to be a deeply loyal and loving companion.
Please only get in contact if you can genuinely meet her needs.
As previously mentioned, we will ONLY rehome Lily to an experienced owner with NO children or other pets in the household and multiple meet and greets including walks with Lily will be required before she is sent to another home, so be prepared for multiple visits.
