Description
This is an incredibly difficult decision and not one made lightly. After 6 months of trying everything possible to resolve ongoing conflict between my cats, I’ve had to accept that rehoming Ember is the kindest option for both him and my other cat.
Ember was born on 26/12/22 and is a very sensitive, gentle soul who thrives in a calm and predictable environment. He absolutely adores human affection – he will happily curl up under the covers with you, purring (and often drooling!) while being cuddled. He forms strong bonds and is a deeply loving companion.
Unfortunately, due to increasing tension in the home (likely worsened by neighbouring cats below), he has become anxious and on edge, which is not fair on him or my other cat who he takes his frustration out on. My other cat is not particularly interested in other cats and would be happiest as a single cat, which has also contributed to the situation.
The home he needs:
• A quiet, low-traffic household
• No other pets would probably be best, though he may be okay with another calm cat that enjoys companionship (this cannot be guaranteed).
• No young children
• Ideally suited to a single person or older couple
• Someone around a lot, as he doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long periods
He has always been an indoor cat and would be best suited to remaining indoors, though he would really benefit from a secure garden or catio.
Additional info:
• Fully vaccinated, neutered, and regularly flea’d and wormed
• No known health issues
• Has a sensitive stomach, well managed on Bozita grain-free indoor & sterilised reindeer dry food which can be brought from zooplus
• Will come with his food, litter tray, favourite toys, and scratch pad.
A rehoming fee will apply to help ensure he goes to a genuine, committed home.
We would like any potential new owner to meet him and spend time with us before any decision is made, to ensure it is the right match for everyone.
It is very important to us that if, for any reason, things do not work out, he is returned to us. We do not want him being passed from home to home.
Our aim is to find him a direct, loving home-to-home placement, as a cattery or rescue environment would be extremely stressful for him. However, we are open to working with experienced rescues or organisations if it helps ensure he finds the right home.
This is heartbreaking, and he will not be going to just anyone. Finding the right home where he can feel safe, relaxed, and truly happy is the absolute priority.
If you feel you could offer Ember the calm, loving environment he needs, please get in touch with some information about your home and lifestyle.
