Description
Meg has been our much-loved family pet for 6 years. We bought her from a Welsh farm breeder.
Unfortunately my son has developed severe animal dander allergies which has forced us to make the necessary decision to re-home our animals. We do so with a heavy heart.
It’s important you understand the breed when acquiring any animal:
Border Collies by nature can be quick tempered, anxious and neurotic. They are working dogs with the highest intellect in the world of any dog breed. As such, they require stimulation and plenty of exercise. However, Meg has Collie Collapse syndrome so she is fine on walks but can’t be over exerted or out when it’s hot as she will collapse. But she loves to chase a ball and go on country walks. Collies are natural herders so she will chase cars so can’t be off the lead by roads. Collies are high shedders and Meg does not like to be groomed whether it’s brushing or nail cutting she gets anxious. Meg has brilliant recall. She is loyal and loving.
Meg would benefit from someone who knows the breed and has outside space. Although shes grown up with my three young boys, I’d place her with older, more responsible children who know her boundaries. She loves a stroke but not kisses or tight cuddles.
Meg is a beautiful sole and deserves to be loved. We will be picky as she deserves the best life possible if she’s going to be re-homed through no fault of her own.
