Description
Ricky is looking for a loving forever home š¦
Ricky is a clever, funny and very active cockatiel with a huge personality. He loves singing, whistling, dancing and playing. He can say āHello Rickyā and āSee you Ricky,ā along with other sounds he has picked up. Heās curious about everything and can be a little cheeky!
Ricky came to live with us a few months ago after our friend had a baby. His singing and calls were waking the baby too often, so we offered to take him in and see how he settled with our female cockatiel. She is very quiet compared with him, and we hadnāt realised how much his calls might carry through our apartment.
Ricky is semi-tame, but he doesnāt like being picked up or having his head scratched. He has his own moments when he comes to you for attention, and he may sit on you or play around you. Itās best to let him approach in his own time rather than trying to handle him.
He loves attention and is quieter when weāre home spending time with him. He can call loudly to get attention, though, and our neighbours have told us he is very loud while weāre at work. Sadly, the noise has become a problem in our apartment, so we need to find him a home where his voice and lively personality will be welcomed.
He may not be the best fit for someone who works nights and needs to sleep during the day, or for a home with small children who need a quiet environment.
Ricky enjoys spinach and other leafy greens, boiled egg and cockatiel seed. Heās around a year and a few months old and was DNA tested in July 2025. He can go with his large cage and the toys currently in it.
This is a very difficult decision because I personally love Rickyās personality. Youāll never be bored around himāheās funny, entertaining and, yes, sometimes a little annoying too! But he deserves the best: a loving home for the rest of his life, where he is appreciated for everything he is.
Rehoming fee: £100, including his cage and toys. Delivery may be possible within 20 miles.
