❤️ RUFUS – JUST ONE YEAR OLD AND ALREADY FRIGHTENED OF THE WORLD
At one year old, Rufus should be discovering how much fun life can be.
Playing with toys, exploring new places, enjoying walks and learning all those little things that make being a young dog so wonderful.
Instead, he's spending his days in kennels in the Scottish Borders, frightened of a world he hasn't yet learned to trust.
And the saddest thing? Underneath all that fear is a lovely, gentle little dog just waiting to come out.
When Rufus first meets someone, he doesn't know what to make of them. He barks, becomes stressed and tries to keep his distance.
But give him ten minutes, a gentle approach and perhaps a tasty treat, and you start to see a completely different Rufus.
A sweet, affectionate youngster who just needs someone to believe in him.
Imagine what he might be like after a few weeks in a calm, loving home, with someone who understands that building confidence takes time.
Someone who won't expect too much too soon. Who'll celebrate the little victories and let Rufus discover things at his own pace.
We're looking for an experienced FOSTER or FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home for Rufus.
🐾 1 year old, male, small-medium size
🐾 Currently in kennels in the Scottish Borders
🐾 Needs a calm, patient and experienced home
🐾 Cannot live with children or cats
🐾 Could potentially live with another dog following careful introductions
We would strongly recommend a few meet and greets before making any decisions. Rufus needs time to become comfortable with new people, and it's important that his future foster family understands his needs.
Fostering doesn't mean you have to commit to adoption straight away. You'll have the support of Love4Dogs as Rufus begins adjusting to home life.
