Description

Laine is a beautiful black panther, aged 12-mths. She came into us as a feral kitten at 3-mths old, an older feral kitten. Laine had severe calici virus on arrival with us. She has had extensive treatment whilst with us and has been treated with a long term course of anti-viral medication which she has responded well to. This has now finished. Laine has been left with very minimal mild gingivitis which does not cause her any issues. If this was to worsen at any point in the future, the Sanctuary would be happy to undertake tooth extraction of affected teeth at our HQ site in Melling with our dental vet. This is not currently needed and it is advised that it isn't performed on cats younger than 2 years old. It is worth noting here that the stress of a move into a new home MAY cause a milder flare up of the calico virus. This can be treated with anti-viral medication. As Laine has been in long-term foster care, she will slip into a real regression on being rehomed. It may take a while for her to get back to the friendly loving girl that she currently is. She will need an experienced adopter, quiet and calm home, time, patience and lashing of TLC. If she is given the space to blossom 🌸, she really will. Her fosterer says that she is compliant and no trouble at all 😽. Laine is a calm, gentle and timid girl. She loves human company and, once her trust has been gained, she will treat her humans to head bumps, kisses and purrs. Her confidence has grown so much whilst in foster. However, unfamiliar things can still worry her and make her nervous. Until she feels comfortable in her new home, she will hide away but, once she knows someone is her friend she will follow them around…..even waiting outside the bathroom 🛁 door!! Laine’s favourite things are seeking out sunny 🌞 spots in the house, chasing laser pens or reflections, lick-e-licks and small stuffed animals 🧸. Often, these animals can be found around the house as Laine has carried them during the night…… and some of the teddies are the same size as her! Laine enjoys looking outside and will sometimes meow at the door as if asking to be let out. She would possibly like a garden to explore, once fully settled in her forever home. Laine can be homed with a friendly, neutered resident cat, in an experienced adult-only home. Although It took some time for her to realise that Buddy, the resident dog in her foster home, is a friend, he has won her over with his gentle and laid- back nature. She could, therefore, be homed with a calm cat-savvy dog. Laine is in foster in Widnes and has been neutered, chipped, parasite treated and is fully vaccinated. If interested in adopting this adorable girl, please call us on ************ and leave a voicemail. Adoption fee of £125 and vetting applies.
