Baxter is our big baby, he is almost 7 years old and is a big gentle boy. We got Baxter as our pet in 2019 after we got told we couldn’t have children. Baxter has been very difficult in the past 6 years. He still acts like a puppy, he is very needy and just loves attention off everyone. Baxter attended a doggy daycare when he was about 2, he got attacked by another dog and has been very anxious since. Now he can not be around any other dogs, even out on walks we have to keep him close by to us and walk him where we know there won’t be any other dogs off leads. When Baxter was 3, we ended up having a baby. We then had another baby 2 years later. Our priorities have now massively changed. Our whole lives have changed and we just don’t have the time for him like we used to. He has always been good with our children but he would definitely be more suited in a child free home due to him being quite big and boisterous. He is very strong on his lead, so he would need someone strong who is willing to take him on big walks and give him the one to one attention he craves. This is a heartbreaking situation for us as a family, our children will be devastated when Baxter leaves us, but we know this is something we need to do. Baxter deserves to live the rest of his life being with someone who has the time and energy for him. He will also need someone who has experience with his breed.
