It’s with a very heavy heart that I’m having to make this incredibly difficult decision to find a new lovable forever home for my boy, Zeus.
This is not Something I ever imagined I would be doing and it comes from a place of wanting the absolute best for him.
Zeus is a one year-old Rottweiler with a fantastic personality. He is loving loyal and incredibly affectionate. He’s great with children and has such a gentle nature. He truly adores being around people and fries and attention and companionship. Like many dogs his age he is still very young and full of energy which makes him quite bouncing and excitable at times.
He is fully house trained and already knows basic commands such as sit and lay which shows how I can make intelligent and capable he is. However, due to his age and limited previous experience in training, he does still test boundaries. I would really benefit from continued consistent training and structure.
With the right guidance time and patience, he has all the potential to grow in an absolute perfect family dog
The reason for this heartbreaking decision is due to significant change in our circumstances. My partner is now needing to return to work as soon as possible and Zeus is a very people orientated dog who does not cope well with being left for long periods. He is the kind of dog who wants to be by your side constantly what many people would call a “ Velcro dog”. Wow, this is a wonderful trait in the right home. It also means he needs a lot of time attention and interaction that we cant unfortunately no longer provide.
Another important factor is our youngest child, Zeus is incredibly loving and gentle by nature, but because of his size strength and excitable energy, he can be unintentionally too much for a small child. He doesn’t forget fully know or understand his own strength which has led to accidental Knox and bumps. We have tried putting measures in place to manage this but it’s becoming an increasingly difficult and unfair to keep them both separated when they both naturally want to be around each other ultimately our priority has to be ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both Zeus and our child.
The decision truly comes to a place of love. Zeus deserves a home where he can receive a time training and attention he needs to drive. He will do best with an active individual couple or family. He understands large breeds and can continue his training. Provide structure and give him the companionship he craves
He is an amazing dog with so much love to give and this is not about any fault of his he simply needs more than we are able to give right now finding him the right hand is the most important thing to us and we’re committed to making sure he goes to someone who will love him as much as we do.
