A very special home wanted for Astrid ❤️🐾 It genuinely breaks my heart to be writing this, because Astrid isn't just a cat to us — she's a huge part of our family. But after a lot of thought, we've made the incredibly difficult decision that she deserves a home where she can receive more love, attention and companionship than we're currently able to give her. Astrid is a beautiful 2-year-old Bengal girl with the most gorgeous rosettes and stripes. Although she's fully grown, she's much smaller than the average Bengal and still feels like a kitten when you pick her up. ❤️ She is, without a doubt, one of the biggest lap cats I've ever known. She absolutely loves being close to her people and will happily curl up on your lap for cuddles. She doesn't enjoy being left alone and really thrives when she has someone around to give her company and affection. Astrid can be quite timid and cautious when she first meets people, but once she gets to know you, her loving personality really comes through. She is honestly one of the most beautiful, gentle and affectionate cats I've ever had the privilege of knowing. She's been a strictly indoor cat since we've had her and has been around children throughout her life. One of our children is autistic, and Astrid has always been very loving but appropriately cautious around the children. She's also had a health check and has been well cared for. Although Astrid has always been an indoor cat with us, I do think she may potentially enjoy having safe outdoor access in the right environment. She is quite a cautious girl and I don't imagine she would want to wander very far, but I would only consider this for a home where the surrounding area is genuinely suitable and safe for her. Where we currently live, we simply don't feel it's an option because of the busy roads leading towards the city centre, which is why we've kept her strictly indoors. A secure garden, quiet area or a home where she could gradually have safe outdoor access would potentially be lovely for her, but her safety would always need to come first. She would also be perfectly suited to someone who wants to keep her indoors, as that's what she's used to. Unfortunately, as our children's needs have increased, our family life has changed and we simply aren't able to give Astrid the time, company and attention she deserves. This isn't a decision we've made lightly at all. In fact, it's because we love her so much that we feel we need to put her needs first. Astrid needs a very special home. ❤️ I'd ideally like her to go to someone who understands Bengals and, most importantly, understands that Astrid is a very affectionate, people-oriented cat who doesn't like being alone. She needs someone who will have plenty of time for her, let her settle at her own pace and give her all the cuddles, companionship and love she could possibly want. She will also be going to her new home with everything she needs to settle in comfortably, including her scratch posts, cat tree, blankets, litter tray, lots of toys, as well as litter and the food she is currently used to. I want the transition to be as easy and familiar as possible for her, rather than her suddenly losing all the things and smells she knows. I won't be choosing a home based simply on who can pay the asking price. Her future and happiness are far more important to me than that. I want to feel confident that whoever takes Astrid home will love her, cherish her and treat her as a member of their family. This is incredibly difficult for us, but I truly believe there is someone out there who will fall completely in love with this little girl and give her the wonderful life she deserves. 🥺❤️ Please only get in touch if you are genuinely interested in giving Astrid a loving, permanent home.
