Description
This is Jacob Joseph. He is an almost 13 months old German Shepherd cross Caucasian Shepherd. I'm having to rehome him because of illness. I'm truly devastated to have to give him up but it's in his best interests as I can't fulfil his needs at this time.
Jacob is really loving and unusual for his breed in that he loves people and other dogs. He loves a cuddle and is well behaved when left home alone. I should also mention that he is a terrible thief! He particularly likes to steal the remote control and the washing up sponge.
He needs a person/family who have experience with large dogs, preferably experience with shepherd breeds. The reason for this is he gets incredibly anxious around moving vehicles and bikes. This will cause him to chase the offending vehicle so his new parent will need to have the physical strength to hold him back. He is on medication prescribed by the vet for this and we are using a behaviourist. The medication will probably need to continue for around a year. The behaviourist believes that he will grow out of this by the time he is around two years old with continued training.
He is actually well trained when not in an anxious state. He is fully house trained and sleeps downstairs by himself. He is also an excellent guard dog but he absolutely must be kept living inside the house as he is first and foremost a pet and loves being the centre of the family. Always happy to answer any further questions.
