I never thought in a million years I would be advertising my precious boy Billy he is very special to me but unfortunately I am now at a point where I am struggling to help him, he struggles very badly with separation anxiety it is causing a lot of friction with the neighbours as the whining and barking is constant until I return home, he has now started to go toilet on the sofa while I am out from the distress. I have been training him the best I can but as a single parent with 4 young children it can be challenging, I know it’s no excuse I took the responsibility on but 1 daughter has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy so I could be out hours at a time doing hospital appointments I have tried to manage the anxiety side with toys to keep him entertained and calming medication and a professional dog trainer but I am really struggling now as I can’t stick to the training program as my days are unpredictable due to my daughter. I would like my boy to go the best home possible preferably who can find the time to give him the best training he can have to combat this anxiety. Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
