I have two female guinea pigs. They are both a year old. Unfortunately they don't get along. Popcorn's cage-mate is very dominant, and Popcorn is suffering because of it. As such, I am rehoming both to separate homes. This is a devastating decision for us to make, we love them both so much, but they need to be in environments that they can flourish in. I don't want to surrender one and get the other a friend. I think they both need to be in herds, or at least be introduced into homes where there are pigs already established. About Popcorn: Popcorn is an indoor pig, and loves floor time. She is incredibly cute and easy to lose hours of your life just watching! Popcorn is not a guinea pig to get if you expect cuddles and affection, she is very much the type that you love from afar, though once she gets used to you she will tolerate sitting with / on you. She has the nickname ‘Popportunity’ because every opportunity she gets she will be doing something cheeky. She is very intelligent, and you will hear her wheeking on the dot of 7am for her daily veggies. She loves her daily hay change, and will stand on her back legs watching you as you get her some fresh hay. If she hears door keys rattling then she'll assume you've been shopping and bought her more goodies, and she'll be wheeking then too! Popcorn loves her house. She headbutts it to move it around until it's in the position she prefers, and then takes her food and favourite enrichment items in with her. Pop shares a C&C cage with her sister. They are in a 2x4 cage (140cm x 70cm). She has a hammock that she enjoys, and shares two houses within her enclosure. She has access to lots of hay, and can predict when it's time for more to be given. Their bedding is fleece, and they have fleece pee pads and bath mats to lay on. She eats mostly anything you give her but the below are a guide: Unlimited hay, veggies (lettuce, peppers, spinach, kale, green beans, basic, parsley, strawberry tops, carrot peel occasionally, baby corn, celery etc), Excel Guinea Pig Nuggets with Mint. She loves pea flakes, her favourite food is romaine lettuce. Pop has been handled almost daily since we got her. Poppy is a bit shy, definitely flighty. Once she is securely held she is fine, but she doesn't have a lot of trust with being picked up to begin with. She is fine with having her nails trimmed and sits nicely. She has never bitten a human. Popcorn is quirky, and funny, and absolutely beautiful. She is a typical guinea pig, likes to be fed and pampered but loves to be loved from afar. She would be a brilliant companion for either an older pig, or a younger one. I will include a house, a water bottle, some nuggets and some bedding for her.
