Description
I am delighted to offer healthy, captive-bred baby Dune Scorpions (Smeringurus mesaensis) from a recent successful brood of 45 babies.
The Dune Scorpion is my absolute favourite species to keep—they are incredibly fast, majestic, and fantastic, active feeders that provide plenty of spectacle in their enclosures! Because they are captive-bred, these slings are hardy and well-adjusted.
📈 Current Stage & Setup
• Size/Feeding: At this young stage, they are growing fast and can easily take down pinhead crickets and small roaches.
• Current Enclosure: They are currently housed individually in small sling boxes on dry reptile sand.
• Mother: The mother can be seen in the photos for reference to see how stunning they look as adults, but she is strictly not for sale.
🌡️ Care Requirements (Quick Guide)
These are ideal for both beginners and experienced invertebrate keepers looking for an active desert species:
• Temperature: Thrive best with a warm hotspot of 28°C to 32°C (ideally provided via a ceramic heat emitter or regulated heat source).
• Diet: Crickets, roaches, and other small live insects.
• Adult Substrate Tip: While they are fine in small sling tubs on shallow sand now, as adults they love to burrow. It is best to eventually transition them to a deeper, compactable sand/clay mix so they can dig stable tunnels!
Please feel free to send a message if you have any questions about their setup or care. Thanks for looking!
