Just look at this handsome boy! Tiger is a beautiful silver-coated gentleman, almost 4 years old, with the sweetest face and a personality to match. He's a calm, gentle and affectionate cat, although it took him quite a while to discover that he could feel safe enough to show it. Tiger was rescued around 2 years ago from a hoarding situation, where he had been living in a small studio apartment with approximately 40 other cats. When he first arrived with his rescuer, he was frightened and completely overwhelmed by his new surroundings. He needed a great deal of time and patience to adjust, and, incredibly, he didn't meow for almost an entire year. It's hard to know exactly what his early life was like, but we do know that learning to trust people didn't come easily to him. With consistent care and kindness, however, he gradually found his confidence and began to show the lovely boy he really is. These days, Tiger is a very affectionate companion. He absolutely adores other cats and actively seeks out their company, so a home with friendly feline companions would suit him beautifully. He's also discovered that humans aren't so bad after all! He's happy to be picked up and cuddled, loves curling up beside his person and has a particularly sweet habit of rubbing himself around your feet when he wants some attention. He's not a demanding boy, he simply likes being close to the people he trusts. Tiger will need a little understanding when moving into a new home. Unfamiliar noises and changes to his surroundings can initially unsettle him, so a peaceful household where he can settle gradually would be ideal. He's also spent time around dogs and has been comfortable with calm, gentle ones, although he wasn't so keen on a particularly excitable, jumpy dog. Any canine companion would therefore need to be relaxed and respectful of his space. One important thing to know about Tiger is that he genuinely enjoys being outdoors. Unlike most of our cats, we're specifically looking for a home where he can have safe outdoor access, either through a fully enclosed, (specifically) cat-proofed garden or a secure catio. This is something he really enjoys, and we'd love him to have the opportunity to continue doing so without putting himself at risk.
