Looking for a loving new home for Copper ❤️ This is honestly one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, and it’s not something I’ve decided lightly. Copper is my miniature dachshund, and I love him to bits, which makes writing this absolutely heartbreaking. Unfortunately, we’ve been struggling with Copper’s behaviour around my little boy. When Copper gets overexcited, he can bite and pull at my little boy’s clothes, knock him to the floor and bite him, and despite trying training, things haven’t improved. My little boy is only 2, and as much as I love Copper, I have to put his safety first. This isn’t because I don’t love Copper or don’t want him anymore. If anything, it’s because I love him enough to want him to have a home where he can be happy and where his needs can be met without the stress of living with a toddler. Copper has a gentle side to him, especially when he’s calm and settled, and I want nothing more than for him to find someone who can give him the time, patience and love he deserves. I think he would be better suited to a home without young children, where he can settle into a routine and get the attention he needs. He will come with everything he needs, including his crate, bed, food, toys and treats, so he can take his belongings with him to his new home. Please only get in touch if you’re genuinely interested and able to give Copper a loving, permanent home. This decision has broken my heart, and I want to make sure he goes to the right person rather than just any home. I love him so much, and all I want is for him to be happy and safe. ❤️
