The Russian Black Terrier, also known as Chornyi Terrier, Tchornyi Terrier, BRT, is a large and impressive looking dog that was bred specifically by the Russian army to track down fugitives and guard properties. These handsome dogs, also known as RBTs, are highly prized in their native Russia as well as in other countries, but especially in Italy. However, the Russian Black Terrier is less popular in the UK, although they make wonderful companions and family dogs thanks to their friendly, loyal and affectionate nature.
