The Cavachon, also known as Cavalier-Bichon, Cavashon, was created by crossing two purebred dogs, namely the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with the Bichon Frise. These small dogs were first developed in the USA but quickly became very popular in other areas of the world, including here in the UK, thanks to their adorable looks and charming nature. Cavachons are not recognised as a breed by the Kennel Club or some other international clubs. However, breed clubs have been set up in many countries around the world and their aim is to ensure that breeders follow good breeding guidelines so that these delightful dogs are bred responsibly, especially as there is no breed standard for the Cavachon at the moment.
The average life expectancy of a Cavachon is between 10 and 12 years when properly cared for and fed an appropriate good quality diet to suit their ages.
