The Swedish Vallhund could easily be mistaken for a Welsh Corgi with an unusual coat colour, but in fact they are not related in any way. In their native Sweden, they are also known as Swedish Cattle Dog, Swedish Shepherd, Swedish Cow Dog, and are prized for their tenacity as extremely good working dogs. Since arriving in the UK, the Swedish Vallhund has gained a large following and is known for being a loyal, friendly companion and a wonderful family pet.

Swedish Vallhunds make excellent pets for active individuals or families who can provide plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. They are intelligent, affectionate, loyal, and lively, forming strong bonds with their owners and thriving in obedience, agility, and herding activities. However, they require consistent training and socialisation to manage behaviours like excessive barking and can be reserved around strangers initially.
