Sugar Glider Rodents for sale in New Addington, Greater London

Sugar Glider, also known as Sugar Bears or Gliders, is a small, nocturnal marsupial originating from Australia and New Guinea. Notable for its soft grey fur with a dorsal black stripe and large eyes adapted for night vision, this species features a distinctive gliding membrane stretching from wrist to ankle, allowing it to glide between trees. Sugar Gliders typically measure 12-15 cm in body length with a similar tail length and weigh between 85-170 grams. Known for their social nature, these animals live in colonies and require companionship, making it essential to keep them in pairs or small groups. Their temperament is curious, active, and they bond deeply with caretakers but need patient, consistent interaction. Not suited for first-time owners, Sugar Gliders demand a specialized diet consisting of insects, sap, and fruits, as well as adequate space with vertical climbing and gliding opportunities. In the UK, ownership involves legal considerations such as ensuring welfare regulations are met and sourcing care from experienced exotic vets. Their lifespan can extend up to 15 years, highlighting the long-term commitment required. For prospective UK owners searching for "sugar gliders for sale UK" or looking into the "sugar glider pet" lifestyle, comprehensive research and preparation are vital to meet their complex needs.
