Meet Teddy, a gorgeous male sprocker who is neutered, around the age of 4 and a half, who hasn’t had an easy go of life. We rehomed Teddy just over a year ago with very limited background information on his life including his birthday, health, where he has come from and what makes him, him. Over the last year we have worked closely with a fantastic dog trainer to try and help Teddy gain the best out of his life. Teddy is reactive to dogs, our dog trainer described him as a ‘football hooligan’ he loves the thrill of barking and putting on a front to other dogs. In the whole year we have had him he has NEVER bit another dog and our dog trainer has not described him as aggressive. He has come so far in his training and we are looking for someone who is going to continue this, due to his current reactivity it is important his is rehomed as the only dog and animal within the home this includes cats and any small animals too. Rehoming Teddy has been the hardest decision we have made as a family, Teddy shows unconditional love to both me and my partner. He cuddles in bed at night time, always greets us at the door with the wiggliest bum and a toy in his mouth, he will place his legs on your shoulder and give you a hug while expecting kisses back. He is great with any visitor we have over and will show the same amount of love. He can be left alone for up to 6 hours he will have no accidents in the house or chew things (other than post!). He loves his long walks and playing in water. Teddy does take medication for his allergies which is not a substantial cost and fantastically managed by the vet, he does not require regular check ups just simply reviews to ensure the medication is working (more details can be shared including price if interested). We are rehoming Teddy due to his reactivity towards children under the age of 12 and we are due to soon have a newborn baby. We do not know why Teddy is reactive to young children and as stated prior we have no history of him. He will bark and show signs of fear and confusion, we believed we could make it work however after training and a change in home circumstances we do not believe we can give Teddy the home he deserves which is not to be shut away behind a baby gate. It is important Teddy is not rehomed with any children under the age of 12. We will be ensuring that Teddy goes to the right home, a home that is willing to take on Teddy despite his challenges and give him the best loving home, whilst continuing to train or work with a trainer to give him the best out of life. We do not want any money for Teddy.
