💔 A very sad post — two much-loved dogs looking for a new home together 💔 This is something I have tried very hard to make work, but unfortunately I have come to the heartbreaking decision that it is no longer fair on the dogs. This is not a decision I have taken lightly. Walter – Doberman 🖤 Walter is coming up to 2 years old in October and is the biggest cheeky love bug. He absolutely loves his people and would happily have your undivided attention all day long. Walter is not neutered. Our vet recommended waiting until he was 2, and this will need to be discussed with his new owner. Only one of his testicles has descended, so this will need veterinary advice and treatment. Walter can be quite vocal around other dogs, particularly larger dogs, but he has never shown aggression. He is excitable and will need an owner who understands the breed and is willing to continue working with him. Both dogs currently go out daily with a dog walker as part of a pack, although they are walked in a secure field. Because of this, lead walking will need some further work. I use a figure-of-8 lead with Walter, which works brilliantly for him. Walter is great with my cat and has never been an issue around him. Darcy – German Shorthaired Pointer 🤎 Darcy loves everyone and everything. Her whole body wiggles with excitement whenever she sees you. She is a lovely, affectionate girl who enjoys being around people. Darcy is spayed. Darcy has not shown aggression towards cats, and I don’t believe she would hurt one, but she does like to chase cats, so this would need to be carefully considered if you already have cats. 👧 Children Both Walter and Darcy are good with children and have been around children. However, due to their size, age and excitement, I feel they would be best suited to a home with older children who can understand and manage two large, energetic dogs. 🐾 THEY MUST STAY TOGETHER Walter and Darcy have been together since they were only a few months old and have never been separated. They are extremely bonded, so I will not consider homes looking to take just one of them. 🏡 Finding the right home I am going to be very particular about where these two go. They are both very much loved, and although this decision is heartbreaking, their welfare has to come first. I would like to visit your home and see where Walter and Darcy would be living if I consider you a suitable potential home. This is simply to make sure I am comfortable that the environment, garden, space and lifestyle are right for both dogs. I will also want to have a conversation with you about your experience with dogs, your lifestyle, working arrangements, children and any other pets before considering a rehoming. Please do not enquire if you are looking to separate them, and please no timewasters. I would rather take longer to find the right home than rush these two into the wrong one. I am looking for someone who will genuinely treat them as family members and give them the love, time, exercise and stability they deserve. This is an incredibly difficult decision, so please understand that I will be asking questions and carrying out a home visit because I want to make absolutely sure they are going to the right place. ❤️🐾
