Neither carries the gene responsible for yellow coat colour, and he will never pass on the allele for yellow coat. Kye is negative for the MITF variant associated with parti-colour in some breeds, also for the Degenerative Myelopathy mutation, cleared of the Canine Multifocal Retinopathy Type 1 and also of the HSF-4 Hereditary Cataracts mutation.
