Description

Beau has recently flown from Cyprus to find his forever home and is currently in foster in Henley ,South Oxfordshire . He is neutered, and fully vaccinated Beau is a pointer mix however we believe he has some border collie and he is approx 15 months old . He is an independent, highly trainable, inquisitive, stubborn, playful, goofy boy who loves his toys. He is highly food motivated and is an active boy . He is however a gentle soul who is cuddly and seeks reassurance. He is intelligent, and likes a firm hand and a job to do. Beau is good on the lead with no issues but is however determined to chase any wildlife, predominantly birds. He is not possessive of food and is usually fine if he has his own to get on with. Beau is good with all dogs outside of the home and is playful and wants to say hello. He is showing dominant behaviour to our other dog who is very submissive so probably better suited to being a single dog or with a less submissive dog. He is great with all people and children outside of the home as far as I’ve seen. We would not recommend with small furries due to high prey drive. Beau is very clean in the house and has not had any accidents within the house even once!!! He sleeps brilliantly at night a full 8 hours with no issues and sleeps in our room so couldn’t comment if he were left in another room.. The ideal living situation for him I believe would be a farm/horse yard/or large estate. He is the ultimate outdoors dog and would happily stay out all day. I’m currently doing 4 hour walks each day with our other working dog alongside enrichment activities and training. He needs a strong hand to guide him. He has much better days when my husband is home. He has no known health issues and the vet gave him a clean bill of health. He’s very good at being handled and understands that you’re helping him. Training wise we’ve taught him to sit and lie down and are working hard on getting him to wait but not quite there although he does on lead at the roadside when I instruct him. I just think he needs significant space to roam and a job to do and he’ll be one happy boy.
