Please read all of this before messaging, we are in no rush with rehoming and want to find her the perfect home.
Luna is a beautiful 5 year old Golden Retriever with the sweetest nature. She walks beautifully on the lead and is an absolute pleasure to have around the home. She’s calm, affectionate and wonderful with children, she’s been good as gold with our boys and genuinely loves being part of family life.
She’s great with other dogs, has quite good recall (although birds and squirrels are a bit too exciting to ignore!), and is very well behaved in the house. She does not have separation anxiety and doesn’t chew, she simply enjoys company and being around people.
When the boys are asleep she can sometimes have a little whine and worry until they’re up, then she’s straight back to her playful, happy self, she absoloutely adores them.
Luna is quite vocal, she barks if someone comes to the door, if I leave the room, when she goes out into the garden etc, the barking would benefit from some training I think, or a family that isn’t worried about barking. It does impact our family life as we have small children which she does wake at nap times etc, I feel she would be best with an older family that this would not impact as much.
Luna also has a sensitive tummy (as most retrievers do) so she is on butternut box which costs about £100 a month, and will need maintaining as she gets a poorly tummy on everything else. So please bear this in mind. It would be unwise to start altering her food as getting it right has stopped her having to have regular anal gland expressions.
The only other thing is she’s not the fondest of car travel but it’s been no real issue, she will just pant a bit but she’s been on some good journeys with us and it’s never a problem, I just wanted to mention it so you get an accurate picture of Luna.
