This is an incredibly heartbreaking decision, and one that hasn't been made lightly. Duke is our beautiful 11-month-old Doberman, who is so loved and means the absolute world to us. Unfortunately, with a baby on the way and our circumstances changing, we've come to the difficult realisation that we may no longer be able to give Duke the time, attention, training and stimulation that he needs and deserves. Duke is a loving, energetic and affectionate young boy who has so much love to give. He forms strong bonds with his people and deserves a home where he can receive plenty of attention, exercise, mental stimulation and consistent training. Being just 11 months old, Duke is very much in his adolescent stage. He has lots of energy, can be boisterous and excitable, and still needs work on his manners and recall. He can also be destructive around the home if not appropriately managed, so his new owners must be prepared to put time and effort into helping him mature into a well-balanced adult dog. We are ideally looking for: Someone with previous Doberman or large, energetic working-breed experience. An active home with plenty of time for exercise, enrichment and positive, consistent training. Someone who understands the challenges of adolescent dogs and is willing to work patiently with him. A secure home and garden, as his recall is not yet reliable. Someone who can offer companionship and a suitable routine without leaving him alone for excessive periods. Duke is not being rehomed because he isn't loved. Quite the opposite (hence why he is not being ‘sold’ for any money - had to put the minimum amount to put the add up) We love him enough to recognise that he may thrive in a home better suited to his needs. Our absolute priority is finding the right person, not simply finding him a home quickly. We will be very selective and want to make sure Duke goes somewhere safe, loving and experienced, where he can live a happy, fulfilled life. Serious, experienced enquiries only, please.
