Maggie is an English Bulldog bitch, who has been our family pet since she was 8 weeks old. She’s now 5, coming up to 6 in March next year. We’re reluctantly having to find her a new home, because we have a baby & as good as she is, she doesn’t like baby’s prodding & poking her & it’s just not fair on her. She deserves more. She’s a lovely girl & we’re looking for the right home, who can take her. We don’t want any money for her, just the right home. We want whoever has her to be suitable & know what she needs & be the right person or people to give her that. So, to that end, here are the pros & cons. Pros: - she’s affectionate & protective. - she’s unspayed/intact but never had a litter. - she’s a real people Person & loves attention & cuddles. - she loves adults & older kids (ideally 10 & above) - she is happy to be left at home for 4 or so hours at a time. Longer if she has a nice couch to call her own. - she walks beautifully on the lead & loves to explore. - she doesn’t want or like big, long walks - 20-30 minutes a day is her ideal pace. - she doesn’t chew or misbehave. Cons: - not a fan of other dogs, especially small ones (she was attacked by a sausage dog when she was younger) & would be best suited to being the only dog. - walks really well off-lead & has great recall, unless another (especially smaller) dog approaches & she can get quite defensive & has to be watched very carefully. - she doesn’t like being left out of the fun & attention. If you have visitors, she wants to be involved & will whine to be in the room with them. - she’s great with older kids but if smaller kids are rough with her, she can get excitable & a bit boisterous. - she gets runny eyes. Nothing medically wrong, they just need to be wiped daily to keep the gunk at bay. Her next jabs are due in October & she’s a lovely girl, who needs a family or owner who can give her a couch & a bone to enjoy, with plenty of fuss & cuddles.
