Smooth female dachshund, her name is Phoebe and she absolutely loves attention from everyone. She’s a princess and only wants that treatment, she’s incredibly expressive in her face and an absolute sweetheart. We do allow her to sleep on the bed, incase that’s something you’re not a fan of. We live in a flat but she’s fully pad trained and could easily learn how to go outside. She will not go down stairs and is afraid of heights, we tend to bring her down from surfaces so she wont hurt her back, as this breed is very prone to doing so!! We’re looking for a home for her that will have time for her as we’re all out alot due to work and university, experience with dachshunds are preferred as their backs can be incredibly fragile. Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
