Maggie started regularly appearing in a kind lady’s garden. She asked locally whether anybody owned her, but nobody came forward. It soon became apparent that Maggie was pregnant, so rather than leave her outside, she brought her in and gave her somewhere safe to have her baby.
Little Milo was born on 22nd June 2026 and has grown up with his mum beside him ever since.
Despite having been living outside, Maggie doesn’t seem remotely feral. She is an incredibly gentle, affectionate girl who loves people. Milo is friendly too, with all the curiosity and energy you would expect from a young kitten. His rescuer originally nicknamed him “Flash” because he is so fast!
Maggie has now been spayed, and both are ready to find their permanent home.
Why are they looking for a home?
The lovely lady who took Maggie in has her own female cat, and unfortunately the two girls simply don’t get on. She has kept them completely separate, but her own cat has now started refusing to come inside, so the situation can’t continue indefinitely.
She is very kindly keeping Maggie and Milo safe and cared for while Penny Paws finds them the right home, but we would love to get them settled as soon as possible.
Most importantly, we want Maggie and Milo to stay together.
Milo has spent his entire life with his mum, and these two are a little family. Rather than separating them now, we are looking for somebody who will open their home to both.

Adopting through Penny Paws
Penny Paws is a small, independent, volunteer-run cat rescue. Our cats live in foster homes rather than a rescue centre, so we get to know them properly while they are with us.
We are entirely funded by adoption fees and donations. That money has to stretch across food, litter, flea and worm treatment, microchipping, neutering, routine veterinary care and, increasingly, some very large emergency vet bills for the cats who arrive needing more help.
Because of this, we aren’t currently able to routinely vaccinate every cat before adoption. We ask adopters to arrange vaccinations with their own vet after adoption, which also means they can begin a fresh course with a vet who will be responsible for their ongoing care.
Any available veterinary history will be discussed with an approved adopter.
A ÂŁ100 deposit is required to reserve Maggie and Milo. This is deducted from their adoption fee, with the remaining balance payable on or before adoption day.
